There is a fantastic restaurant in the town of Socorro near the Wal-Mart called the Roadrunner Restaurant and Lounge. If you’re following route 60 you’ll pass it on your left. The restaurant doesn't open until 5 pm but the steaks are worth the wait. Be prepared to pay $20 and up per plate.
This weigh station should be closed at night and on weekends. There is no guarantee on that- but generally that is the case. Always ask ahead just in case. The rule of thumb during the week is that if the sun is down, the POE is closed.
