REST AREA

Rest Area, Southbound, Restrooms, Picnic Table, Vending, RV Dump (on a side loop as you exit to the onramp, free, rinse water), Pets, Handicap, Feb 2019: Prominently signed 8 hour parking and No overnight parking. The dump site design is reasonably functional, appears to be somewhat regularly maintained, and can be easily accessed by any size vehicle. Fresh potable water is available about 25 feet ahead of the dump site, from a faucet at a wooden post (not very well marked or visible, but easily accessible). The faucet is threaded, so a hose can be attached; and is NOT spring loaded, so will stay on when turned on (both are somewhat unusual for California Interstate Hwy Rest Areas). The water supply pipe to and at the faucet is only marginally insulated, so may be frozen or shut off in freezing weather. It appears the rinse water is allowed to run 24/7 during freezing weather so that it will not freeze. This means the dump site area is wet and may be icy during freezing weather.
